The Mustang Diaries: Penny - Cheater First Ride

Penny had a big 3rd birthday weekend by completing a "cheat ride"! Before we actually get in the saddle for the first time, we like to do an exercise where the horse parks parallel to the fence and gets to experience seeing a person above them! Many horses get spooked when they feel some weight in the saddle and see someone out of both eyes simultaneously. To prevent a big fear-based overreaction to these things on the first real ride, we cheat and get the colt to experience them beforehand by leaning on them and rubbing them all over their bodies, but from the safety of the fence.

As expected, Penny did an excellent job and quickly caught on to the exercise.
