The Mustang Diaries: Peaches & Crisco Day 10

I went on a haul down south for a few days, so I didn't get a chance to get the girls in the round pen when I wanted to. But, better late than never, and on day 10 out of holding, I could finally begin the REAL training.

Everything starts in the round pen! My only goal for both girls was to get them to move their feet forward around the pen and establish a consistent change of direction to the inside/towards me. Each of these ladies accomplished that within a relatively short amount of time. I was most impressed with Peaches and her responsiveness when I asked for a change of direction. That girl can get low! Do I smell a nice cow horse in the making?

Peaches really using her front end!

Both videos are at the last minute of Peaches's and Crisco's sessions, as they showcase their newfound skills. I couldn't ask for anything better from these ladies. Both of them thoroughly grasped the direction changes, my questions for speeding up, and that they need to give me their undivided attention to receive rest time.
