The Mustang Diaries: Kai-Ju Day 111 - Mom's First Ride

Yesterday marked Kai's 111th day out of holding and his FIRST RIDE with his mom/owner! What a great pair these two make! It makes me sad knowing Kai's training journey here is ending soon, but I am so proud to have been a part of it! The smile on his mom's face in nearly every picture makes it all worthwhile!

Tensions were a little high, and all of us observers held our breath as she mounted him. Kai was a bit anxious to have someone other than me hopping on his back, but after a few minutes of flexing left and right and walking around the arena, he settled right in sync with his mom. She worked him at the walk AND TROT, it was as if these two had ridden together hundreds of times! I'm excited to see what the next ride holds for them. He'll soon switch to a snaffle bit and potentially a new saddle! I'm sure he will look dashing in an English setup.
