The story of Joe and Crisco is a brick in the layer of supporting evidence to the power of unexpected connections. We originally acquired Crisco to train her and offer her to the public, but one of our own, Joe's dad, Joe Sr. struck us all by surprise when him and Crisco decided they had something else in mind.

While we often believe we choose our horses, a deeper look suggests that, in many ways, they choose us. The process is subtle, relying on nuanced communication and a silent understanding that transcends words, revealing how horses pick their people through observation, empathy, and an instinctive search for safety and belonging. And thats exactly what she did, Crisco chose Joe.
